
UETTDRRF06 perform rescue from a live LV Panel
Duration: 4-6 hours (full course) 1-2 hours (refresher course)
Pre-requisites: HLTAID001 CPR
This course provides participants with the skills to manage the danger of accidental electrocution. It is primarily designed for workers in the electrical industry. After successful completion of this course you will be competent to rescue and provide resuscitation to a person who has stopped breathing due to low voltage electrical shock.
Assessment is through a combination of a class knowledge assessment and practical rescue from a panel & CPR scenario. You will be required to demonstrate a simulated rescue of a casualty suffering electric shock & perform CPR on a manikin on the floor

Managing the unconscious, breathing casualty
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
Access & use of an external defibrillator (AED)
Introduction to the principles of low voltage (1000v AC to 15OOv DC)
Role and responsibilities of a safety observer
The hazard and risk management process
Completion of a risk assessment
Communication of work activity with observer prior to commencement of work
Checking of low voltage rescue kit
Identification of correct isolation points for electrical apparatus
Rescue from low voltage apparatus
Complete incident report
Discuss reporting requirements of the Regulator

Note: These two (2) units form UETSS00047 Skill Set for Low Voltage Rescue
Recommended Recertification Period
The Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines, recommends that resuscitation skills are renewed every 12 months.
The Queensland Electrical Safety Regulations 2013 state that this course must be renewed every twelve months.
Unique Student Identifier (USI): All Students completing a Nationally Recognised Course with receipt of a Statement of Attainment requires a USI which can be accessed from the USI website
